The Honorable Robert Underwood is a lifelong teacher and learner who has worked as an educator in various capacities from teaching in classrooms to serving as the University of Guam President for 10 years. Early in his life, he took on controversial social justice issues on behalf of Guam's political status and the CHamoru language and culture.
Underwood has served five terms as Guam’s Congressional Delegate, authoring major pieces of legislation for Guam and served as Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. Even today, Underwood continues his public service through actively engaging with the community through projects, mentorships as well as serving on the boards of various national and international organizations and agencies.
His advocacy, public service and legacy reflect his passion for his homeland, the broader Pacific, commitment to high educational standards and devotion to issues of justice and equity.
