PBS Guam 77th Liberation Day Virtual Parade

PBS Guam To Air 77th Liberation Day Virtual Parade at 9:00 a.m. beginning with a one hour live ceremony commemorating Guam’s Liberation and to include some special announcements.
PBS Guam, KGTF, Channel 12 and The office of the Governor of Guam will air the 77th Guam Liberation Day Celebrations 3-part series on Liberation Day beginning at 9 a.m. The special program will take you Village to Village as we pay tribute to those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifices for us to live as we do today. The theme of this 3-part special program revolves around surviving and finally thriving, 77 years after the war that changed Guam and its people forever. Experience over 3 hours of exclusive interviews both past and present accompanied by never seen before musical performances by Guam’s newest generation of local musicians and breathtaking scenic views of our beautiful island home.

Attached is the program guide for PBS Guam’s month long programming celebration and commemoration of the 77th Liberation of Guam. Throughout the month of July, PBS Guam will broadcast weekly programming relative to the Japanese Occupation, Liberation of Guam and of course, highlight our most memorable parades of the past.

Ina Carillo, general manager of PBS Guam states, “On Liberation Day, July 21st I invite the community to gather with friends and family, bar-b-que, and enjoy a Liberation watch party. Beginning at 9:00am, there will be a full day of programming to consist of our Liberation Special, “A Tribute to Guam’s Liberation”, Virtual 77th Liberation Day Parade, “Village to Village, We Are Survivors”, and a musical tribute, “77th Guam Liberation Legacy Concert”. A re-broadcast of the 75th Liberation Day Parade will air immediately after at 11:30am followed by a re-broadcast of the programming.”
