(Mangilao) For over 50 years, the Guam Educational Telecommunication Corporation, also known as PBS Guam KGTF Channel 12 has been providing children our community with quality educational programs that contain positive and respectful influences on their lives. This year as we celebrate our 50th year of broadcasting on Guam.  The 50th anniversary pledge drive will be held on Wednesday, March 11th from 7pm to 11pm at the PBS Guam studio in Mangilao.  The local station invites the public to call in a pledge to support the station while enjoying a night’s full of entertainment. This LIVE on-air fundraising program will feature the best entertainment that our island has to offer with performances by our talented community of musicians, cultural and modern dance groups.   It will definitely be a full night of top-notch entertainment as the community comes together to support PBS Guam, our local public TV station.

As a non-profit, public corporation, the station’s existence relies upon support from community businesses and individuals.  While PBS Guam receives government funding, most of the funds that help run the public television station come from fundraising efforts like this as well as contributions from viewers and corporate support.
